Art as a shelter, finding light amidst darkness.

In today’s world, it often feels like negativity dominates our collective consciousness. Wars rage on, injustices persist, and the media amplifies these realities with relentless focus. News programs and talk shows magnify the sorrow, as if misery is the only narrative worth our attention. For reasons beyond understanding, people seem drawn to the weight of despair, dwelling on what’s broken rather than celebrating what’s beautiful.

But life isn’t solely defined by hardship. For every headline of tragedy, there exists a quiet story of kindness, progress, or hope—stories that rarely make the front page. These moments of light might not shout as loudly, but they’re there, reminding us that beauty and goodness coexist with the chaos.

For me, painting is a way to reclaim this balance. When the weight of the world feels overwhelming, I retreat into my art. It’s my sanctuary—a place where I can silence the noise and reconnect with the essence of what it means to be alive. Through colors and shapes, I process emotions that words cannot express, creating a world that reflects not the ugliness I see but the beauty I wish to amplify.

Art is not just an escape, it’s a quiet rebellion. It’s my refusal to let the darkness outside dim the light within. Each brushstroke becomes an act of resistance, a way to remind myself—and others—that there’s still room for hope, joy, and inspiration.

I believe that art, in all its forms, holds the power to shift perspectives. When we create, we’re choosing to focus on something meaningful, something hopeful. It’s a stance against the pervasive negativity, an assertion that we won’t let the bleakness consume us.

So, the next time the world feels heavy, remember: there’s always another way to face it. Whether it’s through painting, writing, or any form of self-expression, find your shelter. Find your light. And let it shine, no matter how dark the times may seem.

I wish you with all my heart a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
